Deontic Logic

The teaching material consists of chapters of the handbook of deontic logic (in print). We discuss the main problems of normative reasoning, how deontic logics proposed to deal with these problems, as well as applications of deontic logic to normative multiagent systems and regulatory compliance. After the course, the students can recognize the pitfalls of deontic reasoning, they are able to formalize examples of normative reasoning in deontic logic, and they know which deontic logic to apply in applications.
